Politics
A Level Politics gives students an understanding of the society and world they live in, and equips them to challenge the narratives they receive in the media or from politicians. Students study and compare the UK and US political systems, and learn about how political ideas are formed.â
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Grade 5 in English Literature or Language and a Humanities Subject (History preferred).

Three equally-weighted examinations at the end of Year 13; no coursework.
- Paper 1: UK Politics and the core political ideologies of socialism, conservatism and liberalism.
- Paper 2: UK Government and the ideology of feminism.
- Paper 3: US Politics

- The ability to put together and justify an argument, vital in business, law, etc.
- The ability to use knowledge to criticise and challenge a source, vital in the media, etc.
