Performing Arts (Extended)
BTEC National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice
Students on the Extended Diploma have the opportunity to develop their performance skills in Dance, Acting and Musical Theatre. For each pathway students develop and perform for mini projects which could include Pantomime, Theatre in Education and Contemporary Dance. Students also research working in the Performing Arts industry developing material for self-promotion and auditions and exploring training routes. In the second year of the course students take the lead on a collaborative project producing a performance event to showcase their skills and abilities.
This qualification is worth 3 A Levels.

WHAT TO EXPECT
You will receive tuition in Dance, Acting and Musical Theatre as separate pathways, developing and rehearsing work for performance. You will prepare self promotion and audition material. You will also take the lead on running projects, working as a team to plan, direct and choreograph performance events.
