Production Arts

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts (Theatre Production pathway)

This course requires practical application of design and technical skills. Students will explore the career paths and opportunities in production arts including production and stage management, lighting and sound, design and operation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 2 BTEC: Merit
  • GCSE Drama: Grade 4
  • Relevant experience considered

HOW IT’S ASSESSED

This course has 3 mandatory externally set assessments which are based on examination material set by the exam board and 4 internally set assessments which are coursework based. The work is project based for all assessments.

WHY CHOOSE THIS SUBJECT?

As well as developing practical skills in design, setting up and operating equipment and creating props and set pieces for productions, this course also enables you to develop highly sort after employability skills in communication, independent working,  problem solving, team work, creative thinking, critical thinking and self discipline.

Production Arts gives you an opportunity to use technical and design skills to create imaginative work that has a significant impact on performances and how they are received.
