Performing Arts (Foundation)

BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts Practice

If you want to study one area of Performing Arts alongside additional subjects then this course allows you to specialise in Dance, Acting or Musical theatre. You will participate in mini performance based projects, as well as exploring what it is like to work in the Performing Arts industry.  

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 2 BTEC: Merit
  • GCSE Drama: Grade 4
  • Audition
  • Relevant experience

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will develop your performance skills in either Acting, Dance or Musical theatre, keeping a log book of your progress and reflecting on your performance work. You will also have lesson looking at what working in the industry is like and the training routes to get there.

HOW IT’S ASSESSED

This course is 100% internally assessed through log books, performance work and self reflections.

  • Interpersonal skills: communicating, working collaboratively, negotiating and influencing, self-presentation

PROGRESSION

This course can lead to further study of Performing Arts, and is a good basis for study in English, Media and Film.
