Synopsis
Deloris Van Cartier is a singer in Philadelphia, trying to make it big.
She’s auditioning to perform at her boyfriend Curtis’s gangster nightclub. Deloris thinks Curtis will introduce her to a big producer, but he says she’s not ready. Hurt and rejected, she decides to break up with him. But when she goes to find him, she sees him kill one of his friends.
Deloris runs to the police and hides at a convent until Curtis is tried. At first, she’s miserable, chafing against the rules and the strict Reverend Mother. But when she meets the choir at the convent, everything changes. She finds that many of the nuns are just like her, and they’re really fun to be around. They give her a new purpose in life and show her the love and affection she’s been missing.
Sister Act is a fun and uplifting show that brings people together through music.
