Thorpe Park Fun

On Friday 31 March 2023 a group of 100 Year 9 students went to Thorpe Park.

They completed a workshop on the key principles of Physics and Maths linking their current topic on velocity and acceleration to the real world, along with previous topics on Forces.

Students investigated how acceleration, Newton’s Laws and Forces are crucial in designing and maintaining rollercoasters along with explaining energy conversions on the rollercoaster. Students then experienced the acceleration and forces in a rollercoaster by riding some themselves.
