Ashura holds different meanings for Sunni and Shia Muslims. Sunnis celebrate it as the day Moses parted the Red Sea & the salvation of the Israelites. For Shias, it is a day of mourning for Husayn ibn Ali's martyrdom, the Prophet Muhammad's grandson. pic.twitter.com/3wtiRS2P3N— Valley Park School () July 5, 2025

Here At Last!

Our Year 10 and Year 12 students loved hearing from UK-based band Here At Last about cyberbullying, online safety and mental health.

Here At Last are a band from all over the UK. Formed in 2020, Here at Last sold out their first headline UK tour & will be headlining another tour later this year. They are also the biggest UK boyband on TikTok with over 1.5 million followers. They have all had their own issues with cyberbullying and mental health, so the boys were in the perfect position to deliver such a positive message to our students.

The students heard about the band’s experiences and their advice about how to deal with stress, online bullying and other pressures. The band also shared several performances of songs, along with a preview of their own new song.

Our students had the chance to ask as many questions as they could. They asked about musical inspirations and what the band were most looking forward to post-covid, with performing top of their list.
