A Sense of Pride
I had the pleasure, on Saturday night, of attending a concert in West Malling at which the VIAT Concert Choir performed.
Students from Valley Park sang along with their peers from Invicta Grammar School & the School of Science & Technology Maidstone.
I hope that our students felt a sense of pride in representing the school and VIAT in this way - it was certainly a sense of pride that I felt in watching them, and listening to them perform, for this was an event within the wider local community, with other performers and a wider audience than your typical school concert.
There were weekend rehearsals, and a commitment to putting aside other plans in order to perform on a Saturday night. All those who participated had made the choice to represent the Trust and our school in their own time, and I'm delighted that they did!
What a great feeling to take away from an event designed to celebrate the beauty and impact of choral singing - that you are part of a talented group who can (and does!) demonstrate the impact of exactly that.
Well done everyone. And thank you for dedicating some of your weekend to representing us so well.
