How to apply
All students should apply via the Kent Choices website.
After submitting an application, students will receive a conditional offer through Kent Choices. Following this, students will receive an invitation email to log into Applicaa. Here, they will complete their pre-enrolment details in preparation for Results Day and have the opportunity to register for our two Taster Days.
Once students have applied, we provide ongoing support and guidance. Internal students will receive this during form time with their Future Lead, through one-to-one meetings with the Sixth Form team, or via our careers adviser.
External students who are successful in their application will receive additional support and guidance during the induction week at the start of the academic year.
If you require any additional support, please contact us at:
sixthformapplications@valleypark.viat.org.uk
We will be happy to guide you through the application process.
Taster Days
On 22 and 23 June 2026, all students who have received a conditional offer will be invited into school for two taster days. Students are encouraged to attend both days to ensure they are making the right subject choices. Students must pre-register for this event through their Applicaa account by 1 June.
During the two days, students will meet staff and current students, gain an understanding of Sixth Form expectations, and experience lessons in their chosen subjects.
Information regarding the dress code and the structure of the day will be shared in the Taster Days invitation letter via Kent Choices and Applicaa.
Results Day - Enrolment

16-19 Bursary
At Valley Park School we believe everyone should have access to an outstanding education. Our bursaries are awarded in cases of financial hardship as every student should be able to realise their potential. We offer bursaries so that a student's education can be of a high quality regardless of their financial situation; a bursary is directly related to the income and financial resources of the pupil’s family.
What is the 16-19 Bursary?
The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund provides financial support to help students pay for the costs of participating in their Sixth Form education. Funding is provided by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and administered by Valley Park School.
Please read our 16-19 Bursary Policy to find out if you are eligible.
This also includes information on continued access to Free School Meals in Sixth Form as this does not automatically continue from Year 11.
Applications
If you require support please complete an application form. We ask where possible for applications to be submitted by the last Friday of September each year. Once your application has been submitted we will be in touch to inform you of the outcome of the assessment in a timely manner. If circumstances change during the year please do not hesitate to contact us as we reserve a bursary amount to support with such circumstances. As students transition into Year 13 a Bursary Continuation Declaration Form is provided to families to ensure we have an accurate Bursary record and that we continue to support students during Year 13.
