Art Scholars create a scarecrow

A team of Art Scholars created a scarecrow for the Maidstone Scarecrow Festival.

Local schools and community groups have been busy creating scarecrows based on the themes of ‘Maidstone Faces’ or ‘Famous characters from literature’. The festival takes place between 24-29 October 2022.

'We have called her "Fairy Godmother" based on Cinderella’s godmother,' said Year 9 student, Beth. 'She is made completely of recycled items and using our new textiles skills we have designed and constructed her entire outfit from scratch! We are very proud and excited to see her on display in Fremlin Walk over half term as part of this community competition.'
