National STEM Competition
On Wednesday 15 January 2025, Year 9 students Keira and Max went back to the University of Greenwich (Medway campus) to compete in the national finals of the STEM Challenge competition.

Unfortunately, the other half of their team (from another school) couldn't make it on the day due to a breakdown. Despite never having used robots before, and being paired with complete strangers at the last minute, they still came third out of 900 odd entries. This was a fantastic feat, especially when you consider they were using a robot that didn't seem to know what 90 degrees meant!
Both students demonstrated superior skills in overcoming problems and in working collaboratively to solve a range of tasks. They were amazing ambassadors for Valley Park School, amply demonstrating our core values: ambition, kindness and respect.
