Fitness Tests for Assessment
Our year 12 BTEC Diploma in Sport students were provided with an invaluable introduction into studying in a higher education environment last Friday, when they went to Canterbury Christchurch University to participate in a number of fitness tests in the university’s sports science laboratory.
They completed a number of fitness tests for their unit 5 assessment, including a VO2 max test, body composition test (bodpod) and a wingate test. They also competed on the reaction time wall. Rob Hoyte’s lung function and VO2 max test scores were particularly impressive: the best the sports scientists had seen from a sixth form student!
Their conduct throughout the day was a credit to the school.
